Our recommended winter breaks

Whether you didn’t quite manage to get around to booking your summer holiday, or you can’t get enough of jetting off somewhere new, a winter holiday is the ideal time to get away, whether it's to soak up the Christmas festivities or that extra dose of vitamin D.
But where to go? We are on hand to help, and we have listed our favourite winter breaks, ranging from winter sun, skiing and Christmas markets, there is plenty to choose from.
DUBAI
As Dubai only experiences two seasons, hot and hotter, take a visit during the winter where you can enjoy the most comfortable temperatures in this all-year-round destination, with late afternoons still reaching a wonderful 25 degrees. Surely it has to be the perfect beach weather?
It doesn’t matter what type of traveller you are, there is something for everyone in Dubai, from luxury beach resorts for couples or honeymooners, family-friendly hotels and apartments to central accommodation for those who are craving more of a city experience. We are almost certain that you will struggle to make your choice and that’s before we even start on excursions and activities!
If flopping and dropping is more your style, you have certainly come to the right place. Dubai hotels and resorts are purely made for those seeking much needed relaxation, exquisite cuisine and succulent cocktails by the pool. For those feeling a bit more adventurous, take a trip to one of the many phenomenal waterparks in Dubai, great fun for the entire family.
For more of a cultural experience, we recommend taking a day trip to the desert for a true insight into the rural surroundings. Oh, and don’t forget to visit Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping malls! But be sure to leave plenty of space in your suitcase!
EUROPE'S CHRISTMAS MARKETS
If wrapping up warm and making the most of the winter is right up your street, why not try a European Christmas market getaway? As we all know, it is never too early to plan for Christmas and will soon put some sparkle into your festive season. Best of all, you can be sure to bag some real bargains, enjoy succulent mulled wine, winter warming food and ice skating, you name it, you will be sure to find it!
If you just cannot decide on where to do, why not opt for something a little different, a festive river cruise? Encircling various cities across Europe, it will be sure to get you into the Christmas spirit in no time at all! Our favourite Christmas River cruise has to be the AMA Waterway’s “Magical Christmas Market”, an eight-day cruise from Nuremberg to Vienna. Not only will it show you four magnificent Christmas markets, but you will also be very well looked after on-board too. It will be sure to make those cold winter nights far more enjoyable as you simply drift on by, soaking up the sensational city views
