Egypt, Sharm El Sheikh or Hurghada ?

So, are we all in agreement? We’d all prefer to be on the beach in January? Averaging a positively balmy 24c, Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada will definitely warm you up this winter. January is a great time to visit the Red Sea resorts with the warm weather and cooler evenings attracting us freezing northern Europeans like bees to honey.
Not quite sure whether to head to Hurghada or Sharm El Sheikh? Would one suit you more than the other? The truth is both of these stunning Red Sea destinations feature amazing qualities. Visit Hurghada if you’re in need of a pause, simply unplug and chill…it’s time to relax. Hurghada is crammed full of luxury resorts and tips it’s hat to the discerning. Whereas Sharm El Sheikh seeks out the thrill seekers and partygoers as well as the couples and families. If you’re happiest in the water then both destinations offer a plethora of water activities in the warm crystal-clear waters of the Red Sea - swim, snorkel, scuba dive, jet ski, water ski, boat trip, speed boats, doughnuts and paragliding are all available in these destinations. Did we mention the water parks? Release your inner child on the slides.

If you’re a night-owl or looking for a lively night out, then head over to Sharm El Sheikh’s Soho Square. You’ll find a great range of clubs and bars with sets often headed up by some of the world’s best DJ’s. It’s not all about chilling in Hurghada, there is some great nightlife to be found if you’re looking to liven things up a bit.
Like a sunset? Head over to Farsha café as the views are sensational, luxuriate in this beautiful venue and settle in for the sunset…maybe a little Instagram post too.
Temp your taste buds, a holiday in Egypt means diving into the local dishes, both destinations have some great local restaurants serving up some real favourites - Konafa (a traditional desert usually taken during Ramadan), Hamam Mahsh (stuffed pigeon), Tarb (Grilled Kofta Wrapped in Lamb Fat) and Mahshy (Stuffed Veggies).

So, which to choose? Chill and unplug then Hurghada. Family fun and a livelier evening then head off to Sharm El Sheikh.
